Nick spent 25 years as a union tradesman before bringing his blue-collar work ethic into the shop full-time. He watched his wife, Chip, build the foundation of Chip’s Chop Shop and realized great craftsmanship is universal—whether you’re laying pipe on a commercial job site or executing a zero-gap skin fade behind the chair.
Nick built much of the shop with his own hands. The custom timber, industrial steel, and gritty luxury aesthetic you see today carry his fingerprints. He trained under Chip while working full days in the trades, mastering straight-razor mechanics and precision line-ups through relentless discipline.
In His Chair
Nick is meticulous, patient, and dead-set on delivering sharp, dialed-in cuts. He specializes in tight mid/low skin fades, meticulous beard grooming, and razor-sharp edge work.
Fair warning: if you want absolute silence, Nick might not be your speed. But if you appreciate unfiltered conversation, South Hills sports debates, sharp wit, and a barber who refuses to rush the details, take a seat.
Outside the Shop
When he puts down the clippers, Nick runs Black Flag Creative Works, builds custom pieces, shoots, and stays locked in with his family—coaching sports and hanging out with Hoyt and Toro.
